With me, you can trust your child is in good hands and they will soon be behind the wheel with the confidence they need to safely navigate the roads. As Owner Operator/Instructor, my goal is provide a necessary service to small towns like Homedale and surrounding communities. This is why I have made the decision to start my business, Drive Smart Idaho (DSI) Driving School. This includes things as basic (yet, important!) as getting their Driver’s License. I have a passion for education and understand the importance of educating our youth to prepare them for their life’s journey. These have included in-classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction. Throughout my career, I have taught Driver’s Education classes totaling over 10 years. My oldest, Sarah, has blessed me with 3 granddaughters and 2 grandsons. I’m sure if you ask them if it were a “privilege” their answers may be slightly different. Yes, each of my children had the privilege of having me as their Teacher and/or Principal. They are truly my pride and joy! I adopted Alex and Zach as infants from Haiti. I have 3 amazing children, Sarah, Alex, and Zach. I retired from the Caldwell School District, after 32 years in public education. After 17 years as an educator at Homedale, I was offered an opportunity to become Assistant Superintendent in the Caldwell School District, which I accepted. While at Homedale, I continued to teach Driver’s Education classes when my time allowed for it. During my time in Homedale, I was also Athletic Director and Principal at both the middle school and, eventually the High School. I taught English at Homedale Middle School as well as the High School. The small town of Homedale is where I would set my ‘roots’. Eventually, I made my way to Homedale, ID. Middleton is where I first received my Driver’s Education Training Certificate and began teaching Driver’s Education courses. During my 12 years at Middleton High, I taught English, coached Boys Golf, JV Girls Basketball and Volleyball. I landed my first teaching job at Middleton High School in Middleton, ID teaching English. Shortly after, I received my Masters of Education Administration degree from the College of Idaho. On a pursuit to further my education, I went on to receive my Bachelor of Science from Boise State University. ![]() I’m a proud (Basque!) Idaho native who graduated from Vallivue High School. I’m guessing you’re here to gather a bit of information about myself. ![]()
